Uintah County is working to amend their employee ‘alcohol and drug free workplace’ policy taking into account the Utah medical marijuana law change. During the Uintah County Commission meeting on Monday, amendments to Policy 520 were discussed. The proposed amendments include changes to language to say ‘federal and/or state law’ as well as include marijuana in the list that employees are prohibited from being under the influence of or testing positive to in a detectable amount. Wording related to ordering drug tests was also discussed. It was decided to table the agenda item for legal review.
