A public hearing was held during the Uintah County Commission meeting on Monday regarding a resolution to increase the budget. Clerk Auditor Mike Wilkins presented Resolution #5-20-19R explaining that these are adjustments due in part to grant funds received since the first of the year. In the General Fund, the Resolution proposed fund increases of $210,000 for Emergency Services, $117,100 for the Jail, $51,500 for Cemetery, and $50,000 for Grant Funds. The revenue source to fund these adjustments were primarily Property Taxes and a SHSP Grant. In the Municipal Service Fund, the Resolution proposed fund increases of $4,300 for Community Development and $325,400 for the Sheriff’s Office primarily funded from Sales Taxes. The Resolution also proposed fund increases for the Jensen, Lapoint, and Maeser Cemeteries for various work including paving of roads and the connecting of a water line. There was only one question for clarification from the public regarding the Cemetery funding, after which the Commission unanimously approved the Resolution.
