Plan to bring all your little monkeys to help celebrate Curious George’s 78th birthday. The story of Curious George all started with a Jewish couple fleeing Paris just before the German army in June 1940 on self made bicycles. Hans Augusto Rey and Margret Rey left Paris carrying the Curious George manuscript which was then published in 1941. The couple released seven original books and the world has enjoyed generations of exploring curiosity with the good hearted monkey. When asked why the Uintah County Library is choosing to celebrate Curious George, librarian Roxanne Peterson says, “We want to foster a lifelong interest in great books and reading. Curious George helps kids find and discover new things in the world around them.” The party is for kids ages 0 to 11 today at the Uintah County Library. There will be party games, a treat and a special guest appearance. Dear little monkeys, be sure to bring your own adults as they need to be with you. The party starts at 3pm and goes until 5pm.
