Up to 17 percent of kids in the USA are considered obese and encouraging phyical activities like organized sports or outdoor recreation goes a lot way in supporting a child’s health. Dr. Tyler Moore, a local orthopedic surgeon, says it is important to teach youth to warm up and stretch before engaging in sports because unfortunately, tears and sprains are some of the most common injuries in secondary age students. The most common injury for elementary aged kids is the dreaded broken bone.
