It takes a village to raise a child or so the saying goes. In Utah we take this adage seriously as a mandatory reporting state, meaning when you see something such as abuse, it is mandated that you say something. If you suspect abuse or neglect report it by calling the hotline at

or Vernal dispatch

. If there is an emergency call 911. The Uintah/Daggett Children’s Justice Center urges the public to take this seriously because it could literally save a life. The Children’s Justice Center also provides resources for local families aiming to educate their children on many topics of safety. Free child and teen body safety classes start up again on Tuesdays in August at the Children’s Justice Center. Week one is for kids ages 2 to 4, week two is for kids ages 5 to 8, week three is for kids ages 9 to 12, and week four is for teens 13 and older.
