A group of teens stepped up in a situation in which a man was “engaging in lewd conduct involving a child’ in a Vernal neighborhood. According to Vernal PD, officers were dispatched to the area of
1300 West Main Street
on Wednesday, March 20th, on a report of Disorderly Conduct. “ Upon arrival a male subject was located and found to have sustained an injury to his head,” shares Vernal PD. “Through this investigation it was determined that the adult male had been engaging in lewd conduct involving a child, and that he was confronted by several teenagers. The adult approached the teenagers in a confrontational manner. One of the teenagers pushed the adult back in order to defend himself. The adult again aggressively approached the teenager and was pushed backward a second time resulting in a fall.” The man was injured and was transported by ambulance to the ER and from there was sent to a Wasatch Front medical facility. Vernal PD says he currently poses no threat to the community and for now his name will not be released. The investigation is ongoing.
