Community members were shocked and devastated when members of the Reynolds family were victims of a violent home invasion last September and CalDee Reynolds later succumbed to his injuries from the attack. The investigation by Vernal police led to identifying the suspect as a 15-year-old male juvenile and though information to the public has been sparse during the investigation, Vernal City Police provided a thorough update in a press release on Wednesday. “On July 17th, 2019, 16 year old Nicholas Sinoben, plead guilty in 8th District Juvenile Court to several felony offenses, and was certified as an adult,” announced Vernal PD. “Sinoben was sentenced to confinement until his 18th birthday. Following the Juvenile Court proceedings, Sinoben entered pleas in the 8th District Court to Murder and Aggravated Burglary. Sinoben was then sentenced to a term of 5 years to life for the Aggravated Burglary, and 15 years to life for the Murder.” Vernal Police ended Wednesday’s press release offering heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families at the conclusion of this case.
