A stabbing incident between teens ended in arrest earlier this month. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office shared the following: On Aug. 3, a Uintah County sheriff’s deputy was called to Ashley Regional Medical Center where a 16-year-old boy was being treated for a stab wound. During the investigation that followed, detectives learned the teen had attended a drinking party with a large group of juveniles at the sand dunes south of Naples along State Road 45. At some point during the party, the teen got into a dispute with another 16-year-old boy. The dispute turned physical and the second teen stabbed the first teen once in his right armpit with a knife. The pair was separated by the other juveniles at the party. The teen who had been stabbed told investigators he was driven to the hospital by two girls from the party and left outside. He called another teen who helped him inside. The injured teen is expected to make a full recovery. After interviewing the victim and several witnesses, detectives arrested the second teen. He declined to talk to investigators and was booked into Split Mountain Youth Detention Center. Investigators have located the knife that was used in the incident. Any questions about possible criminal charges filed in connection with this case should be directed to the Uintah County Attorney’s Office.
