Spending a few weeks helping hay on his family ranch in Duchesne earned a rookie linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks a headline story for Seattle area sports news; well that in combination with the impact he has made in the first week of Seahawks training camp. Cody Barton was a third-round draft choice after playing for the University of Utah and has been “in the middle of just about everything” since camp started with the Seahawks. The Tuesday headline reads: “Rookie Cody Barton goes from middle of nowhere to just about everywhere on Seahawks defense” which was a direct reference of his coming from working on his family ranch in Duchesne to training camp. Among other highlights, the article says Barton turned in a major play at camp when he intercepted a pass near the goal line on Sunday. Congratulations to Cody Barton as it sounds like he is off to a great start in his first year of professional football.
