A Rock Springs man traveling on an ATV was killed in an accident on Highway 40
Sunday morning
. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the accident took place
at 10:36am
when a single male rider of a four wheeler was traveling eastbound on Highway 40 at milepost 38. “The ATV was not registered for road use and the driver, 50-year-old Norman Lange, out of Rock Springs, was not wearing any protective gear. A pickup truck, pulling a 20 foot camping trailer, was traveling behind Lange. Lange left the roadway and entered the construction zone, where the shoulder had been roto-milled, approximately 6 inches lower than the road surface. Lange re-entered the travel lane where he was hit by the pickup.” He died on scene. There were no injuries to those in the pickup truck.
