The 2020 Fiscal Year has begun and Vernal City officials were able to put the work in early so that the budget is considerate of residents’ pocket books. “City officials are aware of the local economy and consequently made a number of cutbacks within the proposed budget,” shares Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion. “As a result, the property tax rate for Vernal City will decrease this year.” Bennion went on to explain that the Council met several times with city staff to prioritize services and projects and the efforts resulted in an approved budget that keeps the property taxes low. The average is $65 dollars a year for city services for a residential house. The 2020 Fiscal Year began on July 1st.
