Three Utah cougar kittens with bright blue eyes recently made an epic journey from the mountains of the High Uintas to a zoo in New York state and the Division of Wildlife Resources is sharing their story in an adorable video. It all started when a concerned citizen recently called the DWR to report finding three cougar kittens alone on the south slope of the Uinta Mountains. “With very cold temperatures expected and the mother mountain lion nowhere to be seen, biologists picked up the kittens,” shares the DWR. “Our veterinarian transported the kittens to Hogle Zoo and zoo staff cared for them over the weekend. Now the kittens are headed to their new home at the Bronx Zoo.” The Division of Wildlife Resources expressed their gratitude for the concerned citizen and partners who helped save the lives of these cougar kittens.
