John Wesley Powell may have been born in 1834 but that isn’t stopping him from making special appearances during the local activities celebrating the 150th anniversary of his expedition down the Green River. One such event will be ‘Music Through the Ages’ at Vernal Theatre: Live where John Wesley Powell, not to be confused with local lawyer and actor Jonathan Stearmer, will be present enjoying some of his favorite music on the fiddle. Powell has also recruited one of his favorite performers of his time, the Swedish Nightingale Jenny Lind (or at least her likeness) to perform on the Vernal Theatre: Live stage. In an interview with Amy on 105.5 Eagle County, Powell encouraged all to participate in the upcoming events and to keep an eye out for him as he will be making appearances. ‘Music Through the Ages’ is taking place
Monday, June 10th
and will feature music from long ago up to modern day. Tickets are $5 dollars and come with a choice of either a small drink, small popcorn or a small candy donated by Vernal City and Uintah County. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Uintah High School’s Outdoor Leadership Club. Visit
