You’ve likely been enjoying the art and creative talent of some local siblings and didn’t even know of the family ties. Ted Munford recently made headlines after donating his out-of-this-world handmade Halloween costume collection to the Uintah County Library but did you know that his talented sister just finished up a large mural painting at a popular local hangout? Carrie Munford has been the creative mind behind much of the amazing artwork and displays at the Uintah Rec Center for years. She says she’s enjoyed creating and decorating for the Halloween Mayor’s Walk and indoor carnival each October, as well as painting windows for other holidays. Carrie was assigned a new project this year that she says has turned out to be her biggest yet. Armed with ideas and painting supplies, Carrie started on a mural by the water slides in the pool area in mid-February. The mural, complete with cute baby dinosaurs enjoying their own swimming fun, was finished about two months later on April 17th and in the weeks since has already brought joy and smiles to many local pool goers. A sincere thanks to Carrie Munford for sharing your talents and spreading joy in the Basin community!
