In preparation for archery hunt season, here are some tips from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Be sure to check your equipment including that your bow is not flaking or separating, that the strings on the bow are not fraying, and that the pulleys and cables are in good shape. Be sure to sharpen your broadhead arrows. Use the broadheads that you will hunt with and practice as much as possible. Obtain written permission for any private land being used including if you are just using it to access public land. Do some advance scouting and become familiar with the place you plan to hunt. Try to stay away from the boundary line so that you do not have to deal with a wounded animal crossing over. Spend the time to learn about the fire restrictions before heading out into the wilderness. Finally, always be careful in the popular outdoor areas by adhering to all laws.
