Eastern Utah Among Areas Targeted by DOE’s Clean Energy Projects

The U.S. Department of Energy announced Thursday that they have awarded $19 million dollars for 13 projects aimed at assisting clean energy projects. Eastern Utah and its “Uinta Basin earth resources” is the focus of one of the 13 projects that, according to, will “support production of rare earth elements and critical minerals vital to the manufacturing of batteries, magnets, and other components important to the clean energy economy.”

Golden Age Center Resuming Lunch and Activities

The Golden Age Center is excited to announce that they will resume having lunch and other activities at their facility starting Monday, May 3rd under the guidelines from the Health Department and the CDC. According to a press release issued Thursday, the Golden Age Center is currently requiring patrons to provide proof of being fully vaccinated to enter their facility or provide a copy of their positive COVID-19 test that was taken within the last 90 days.

Utah Wildlife Board Approves Decrease in Deer Permits for 2021

The Utah Wildlife Board approved a decrease in the number of general-season permits for the 2021 deer hunt during their Thursday meeting. Utah Division of Wildlife Resources biologists recommended the overall decrease in permit numbers to the Regional Advisory Councils and to the wildlife board.

BLM Announces Opening of Red Fleet Downhill Flow Trail

The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office announced Tuesday the official opening of the newly constructed Red Fleet Downhill Flow Trail. According to the press release, the trail offers a unique experience for visitors looking to hone their mountain bike speed and technical skills.
