Stabbing in Vernal Results in Arrest

An altercation in Vernal on Friday resulted in the arrest of the suspect. Vernal PD shared the following: On June 26th, Vernal Police Officers were dispatched to 81 North 600 West regarding a reported stabbing. Investigation at the scene determined that a verbal altercation had taken place between a local resident and two individuals.

Uintah School District Developing School Reopening Plan

Uintah School District has announced that they are busy working on the school reopening plan for the 2020 -2021 school year. A draft of the plan will be presented to the Uintah School Board for their consideration and approval during their July 8th meeting.

Multiple Lightning Caused Fires in Dinosaur National Monument

Fire crews from Dinosaur National Monument and the BLM responded to four lightning caused fires on Friday after a storm moved across the area on Thursday evening. According to Dinosaur National Monument, the largest fire is the Split Fire, located in a remote and rocky area at 7000 feet elevation on the north side of Split Mountain.
